About Really Really Retro
What is Really Really Retro? It's the new venue and web site for author and illustrator Barbara Johansen Newman, who is finally taking her love of anything old and funky and combining it with her creative energy to bring you new designs and products that are inspired by the past, but full of everything fresh and new. The last thing this studio wants to do is rehash old imagery and offer it up as new and exciting. We are using our love of the mid 20th century (and before) purely as a jump off point to introduce brand new art, design, and products to meet the growing demand for colorful, funky, fun, and decorative in today's marketplace. And that marketplace calls for things that are creative, energetic and artsy.
What's Available?
To start, Really Really Retro will be showcasing fun new surface decoration patterns and images, which are available for licensing, with more added all the time. Coming soon are limited edition lamps and wall decor. Check back to see our new products as soon as they are available.

Then you've come to the right place. I'll help you brainstorm and I'll even draw up designs to help you visualize that perfect piece of whatever ! And, I'll come up with "go-along" concepts and products, because what's a funky new idea without a few more funky ideas to match?

Through my Really Really Retro licensing program you can choose from my portfolio featuring a wide variety of patterns and designs, or we can come up with custom designs together.
